Last month, the Department of State issued an updated guidance on the National Interest Exception (NIE) for COVID-related travel ban to the United States from individuals in the Schengen Area, the U.K, Ireland, Brazil, South Africa or China. This guidance restricts eligibility for an NIE waiver of the travel ban to those involved with critical infrastructure.
