Important Revisions to National Interest Exceptions

The Department of State issued an updated guidance on the National Interest Exception (NIE) for COVID-related travel ban to the United States

Last month, the Department of State issued an updated guidance on the National Interest Exception (NIE) for COVID-related travel ban to the United States from individuals in the Schengen Area, the U.K, Ireland, Brazil, South Africa or China. This guidance restricts eligibility for an NIE waiver of the travel ban to those involved with critical infrastructure.

If you believe you may be impacted by the travel ban please email Catia Dos Santos at Catia@bandervisa.com to schedule an appointment for obtaining an NIE waiver or to learn more about countries that you can go for 14 days and then be allowed to enter the United States. As the impact of COVID on international travel and the issuance of visas is constantly evolving, we will keep you up-to-date on the latest changes.

Sincerely, Stephen Bander
